The Live and Sleep mattress

Is the Live and Sleep Classic right for you?

Now that we’ve taken a deep dive into the Live and Sleep Classic mattress, it’s time for the most important question: Would the

Classic be a good fit for you? I think the Live and Sleep Classic would be a good choice if you:

Are Looking for a No Frills Mattress – The Live and Sleep Classic is a straightforward memory foam mattress and would be a good fit if your needs aren’t too specific.
Don’t Need the Mattress for 10 Years – This would be great for those looking for an affordable mattress needed for only a few

years. Maybe that’s for a student heading off to college or for someone moving to a new city that isn’t setting down roots just yet.  Sleep on Your Back or Stomach – Because of the quick transition from the memory foam to the polyfoam base layer this mattress

has a firmer feel which is better for back and stomach sleepers. Firm mattresses do a good job of keeping your back in line when in either of these positions.

The Live and Sleep mattress initially feels rather cushioned and soft to me, but due to my heavier weight (230lbs) I did notice I

compressed through the comfort layers and generally felt the firmer underlying support foam more. The nice 12″ thick mattress did

not cause me to “bottom out” and feel the underlying mattress foundation, which tends to happen with thinner 10″ mattresses.

The Live and Sleep is an all foam mattress, so it gives the hug and body contour that memory foam is known for, without feeling

“trapped in foam” that some all foam mattress tend to do.

The foam comfort layer combined with the transition layer both work well together to provide the classic memory foam feeling while

at the same time providing a small degree of responsiveness, albeit a lot less than a latex hybrid mattress or hybrid coil mattress.

The underlying support layer does a good job at supporting our bodies and providing that deep compression support as well.
Sleeping Hot

So the Live and Sleep mattress does a decent job at providing cool sleep, but due to the all foam construction and no cooling

technology in the layers there was some heat retention. We felt a small amount of heat when sleeping together on the mattress, which is common for all foam-constructed mattresses in our experience.

There wasn’t enough heat produced to wake up feeling sweaty or sticky, but due to the fact that we sleep as a couple and live in Texas, heat retention is a big issue and something that we like to see all foam mattresses making an attempt to prevent.

Sinkage & Motion Transfer

The Live and Sleep mattress coupon does a pretty good job with sinkage and motion transfer, about in line with most mattresses we have

reviewed. As we always preach, sinkage (and motion transfer) is largely weight dependent, and as I weigh around 230 lbs I tend to compress and sink lower in most mattresses.

Kaye, who weight half what I do, experiences much less sinkage than I do, but again this is to be expected due to her much lighter weight. With the Live and Sleep Luxury being a nice thick 12″, I didn’t experience significant sinkage compared to thinner foam mattresses.
